We, the Baptist Church Trust Association (India), with reliance on the divine grace of God, do declare and affirm the following core beliefs, rooted in the Holy Scriptures and aligned with the principles of the Baptist tradition:

  • The Holy Trinity: We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who are equal in essence, distinct in person, and entirely divine.

  • Jesus Christ: We affirm our faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, fully divine and fully human. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His atoning death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His imminent personal return in power and glory.
  • The Holy Spirit: We acknowledge the work of the Holy Spirit in regeneration and sanctification, His divine presence within all believers, equipping, guiding, and empowering us for godly living and service.

  • The Scriptures: We uphold the Bible as the infallible Word of God, fully authoritative and sufficient for all faith and life. We affirm its final authority over every domain of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding.

  • Salvation: We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone, and that good works and holy living should emerge from such faith.

  • The Church: We recognise the Church as the Body of Christ, composed of all believers, and affirm the local church’s role in teaching, fellowship, communion, and prayer and we consider Christ as the head of the Church.

  • Baptism and Communion: We practice believer’s baptism by immersion, symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior. We observe the Lord’s Supper, remembering His death and resurrection, anticipating His return.

  • The Great Commission: We believe in the evangelistic and missional calling of the Church as commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • The Resurrection: We have firm faith in the personal, visible return of our Lord Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal felicity of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked.

This statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible, as the inspired and infallible Word of God, speaks with absolute authority regarding truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind and is the unchanging foundation for all belief and behaviour.

In love and unity, we commit ourselves to the service of Christ, seeking to fulfil His commandments and glorify His name until He returns.
